How is the Upper East Side for raising a family?
It is ideal for families. The Upper East Side is physically the least
eclectic area in the city. Each block is primarily residential in
character and I believe this contributes to the overall “family”
atmosphere of the area. It is also home to a wide array of excellent
public and private schools, museums, Central Park and Carl
Schurz Park.
How are the schools on the Upper East Side in comparison with
other areas?
The public schools, particularly P.S. 158 and P.S. 6 are considered two of the best in the
city. Additionally, it offers the highest concentration of private schools in Manhattan.
How are the restaurants?
The Upper East Side might not be a mecca for high-profile, trendy restaurants but it
has no shortage of excellent restaurants. Every type of establishment can be found
here from formal hotel dining rooms to a wide array of ethnic establishments, endless
fast food and youth-oriented spots to dine and socialize.
